It seems like 21st-century moms are spending way more time and energy on parenting and yet the quality of that time and energy is quite low. We’re there, but we’re not present. We’re giving partial attention all-the-live-long-day. We might always be present physically which in some ways inhibits our kids’ growth towards autonomy, but can be rarely present emotionally or socially which inhibits their emotional and cognitive growth.

Our intention in shining some light on our collective distraction as moms is not to heap on guilt or shame, especially in this particular year when it’s been emotionally difficult for all of us. Our goal is to help you…and the three of us…to examine how we’re using our time.
